Does it seem like you are being asked to provide feedback every day? The Noridian Website Experience survey is designed to be presented every 30 days once a survey has been completed, and every 15 days if the survey invitation is declined. These surveys use “cookies” on your internet browser to determine when the survey will be presented. A cookie is a piece of information that is sent to your browser when you access a website. Your facility’s network or browser may delete these cookies daily. If this is the case, the survey cookie is no longer on your computer which causes the survey to be presented more than designed. Line Level Reasons Codes Available on Part A Claims on the Noridian Medicare Portal

As of July 30, 2021, the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) is now providing enhanced functionality for Part A claims. On a Part A Claim Status Inquiry, a reason code is provided to indicate any potential denials or edits for each line of the claim. These reason codes have been enhanced by providing a hyperlink to the reason code narrative. When a user clicks the hyperlink on the reason code, a pop-up window will display the reason code and the associated narrative. To return to the claim detail screen, simply click the “X” button in the top right corner of the pop-up window.  


Full Remittance Advices for Part A Users Now Available on the Noridian Medicare Portal

Part A providers are now able to view, save and print versions of their full electronic remittance advices (ERAs) on the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP). Remittance advices issued on or after July 2, 2021 are available for users that have access to the Remittance Advice inquiry. Previously, full remittance advices were only available for those NPIs that received the standard paper remittance (SPR). Using the Full Remittance Advice inquiry on NMP can be used instead of calling Customer Service to order a duplicate copy. ...Read More

MBI format on the NMP

The Medicare Beneficiary Identifiers (MBIs) are made up of numbers 0 to 9 and upper-case letters A to Z. All letters are used except S, L, O, I, B and Z. In order to avoid errors when entering the MBI in the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP), always use the number zero if a “0” character is part of the MBI as the letter “O” is never used. Patient Status Code Lookup Available

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) provides a Discharge Status Code on the Hospital/SNF section of an Eligibility inquiry response for all Hospital and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) stays. Currently, the description of these codes is not available within the inquiry. To assist users with determining what these codes mean, a “Patient Status Code” button has been added to the screen. This link will bring users to the Noridian Medicare page where a description of these codes are available.

This tool provides suppliers the information needed to verify if a beneficiary’s permanent address is in a competitive bid area. The 2021 Competitive Bid items are the orthotic off-the-shelf (OTS) back brace and OTS knee brace product categories. The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) provides the Discharge Status code and description for inpatient stays under the Hospital/SNF tab in the Eligibility Inquiry results. At this time, not all descriptions are provided, which can cause frustrations when performing billing for your facility. Preventive Service HCPCS Code Change Effective January 1, 2021

Effective January 1, 2021 the HCPCS Code G0297 (Low Dose CT Scan [LDCT] for Lung Cancer Screening) will be replaced by HCPCS Code 71271 (Computed Tomography, thorax, low dose for lung cancer screening, without contrast materials). This HCPCS code will be available in the Preventive Services Benefit Information table of the Preventive Services section of an Eligibility response. 


2021 Medicare Deductible Information Now Available
