COBA Crossover Letters Available on NMP

Facilities may now “Opt-In” to receive Coordination of Benefits Agreements (COBA) crossover rejection letters on the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP). These letters will ensure your facility is aware of any rejections that may have occurred for a claim from Benefits Coordination. To get started receiving these letters on NMP, the Provider Administrator for your facility, can follow the steps found on the COBA Crossover Letters page of the Portal Guide. Once the facilities PTANs have been “Opted-In” the letters will be viewable under the Claim Status tab of NMP on the Crossover Rejection Letters tab.
Noridian Medicare Portal - New Year. New Look.

Noridian is pleased to unveil a brand refresh that gives our users a new look and feel to the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) for 2025. This new look provides a better reflection of who we are as a company with a refreshed logo, colors and tagline. This transition does not impact the operations of NMP in any way as we continue to provide our users with the same inquiries and customer service as before. Throughout the next several months, Noridian will continue to update any existing materials with this new branding which includes the Portal Guide and NMP webinar presentations.

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) Team is proud to announce an enhancement to the Availability section of NMP. We are now able to offer a “Partial Availability” option, which will be displayed when some inquiries may not be available. This status will be indicated by a yellow banner to inform users of potential limited access and will include which inquiries may be unavailable. Purged Claim Request Now Available

Remittance Advice Remark Codes Now Available

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) now provides Remittance Advice Remark Codes (RARC) and Reason Narratives to provide additional information on Medicare Part B unprocessable claim denials. The Remark Codes will be displayed on the Claim Status Line Details when a Claim Status Inquiry is performed. Users can then use the RARC codes to determine the reason for the denial and make the necessary adjustments to the claim....Read More
Appeals and PAR Results Updated

Due to an issue with Noridian’s document repository storage, Noridian has updated the results for Appeals Status and Prior Authorization Status to show results going forward from January 1, 2022 to display. Any results prior to that date will be unavailable. Noridian is continuing to work on the archive storage issue internally and with our outside vendors. For any inquiries that you may need assistance on, please contact the Provider Contact Center if needed.
EDI Claim Submission Available in NMP

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) now allows Part A and B users to upload EDI compatible claim files to EDI Support Services for processing. This is available under the Claim Status function on the Batch Claims Submit tab. The EDI generated reports will also be viewable in NMP once the file has been processed. ...Read More
ACO Lookup Available in NMP

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) has added a new feature for users to verify if a provider is enrolled in a demonstration program using the ACO Lookup inquiry. Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) are one of the many innovation models created by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Participation in these programs is voluntary and allows providers and patients to work together to deliver faster and more efficient healthcare treatment and reimbursement. Provider Administrator’s Can Now Reactivate Users on NMP

Effective June 19, 2023, Provider Administrator’s (PA’s) can now reactivate or deactivate End User accounts on the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) without having to contact User Security. View the “Manage Users” page of the Portal Guide for more details and instructions.
Not Receiving the MFA Email?

Are you not receiving the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) passcode email in your Inbox? This can be caused by a number of different factors, but the most common is that the email address Noridian uses to send out the MFA emails has been blocked as SPAM or Junk by your internal email service. Check your SPAM or Junk mail folder first to see if the email was sent there. If not, users will need to work with their IT department to ensure any email received by Noridian is on your email services “whitelist”. This will prevent the MFA passcode emails from being blocked.
Voluntary PA of Certain PMD Accessory Items

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) uses the Claims Processing Systems to retrieve data for various inquiries. The Claims Processing Systems go offline nightly to cycle the claim information. When these systems are offline, some inquiries on NMP are unavailable. To better serve our users, Noridian has implemented System Availability Notices that will be displayed when the systems are offline and 10 minutes prior to the system going offline. ...Read More
