We’ve refreshed our account activity warning emails to make them clearer and easier to act on. The 20 day notice has been removed, and instead users will receive two friendly reminders—on days 25 and 29—before an account is disabled on day 30 if there’s no portal login. This approach provides clearer, more supportive guidance for users.

Users may now view the status of a submitted overpayment refund check and see what claim or claims the money is being applied to on the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP). Facilities may now “Opt-In” to receive Coordination of Benefits Agreements (COBA) crossover rejection letters on the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP). These letters will ensure your facility is aware of any rejections that may have occurred for a claim from Benefits Coordination. To get started receiving these letters on NMP, the Provider Administrator for your facility, can follow the steps found on the COBA Crossover Letters page of the Portal Guide. Once the facilities PTANs have been “Opted-In” the letters will be viewable under the Claim Status tab of NMP on the Crossover Rejection Letters tab.

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) now provides Remittance Advice Remark Codes (RARC) and Reason Narratives to provide additional information on Medicare Part B unprocessable claim denials. The Remark Codes will be displayed on the Claim Status Line Details when a Claim Status Inquiry is performed. Users can then use the RARC codes to determine the reason for the denial and make the necessary adjustments to the claim.... Read More

Effective May 6, 2024, the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) is making changes to user passwords and login requirements. NMP passwords will be prompted to change every 365 days instead of every 60 days. The structure of your password will change as well. The new password requirements are as follows: 

  • Must be between 12 and 50 characters.
  • Must include at least 3 numbers. 
  • Must have at least 3 symbol (non-letter or number) characters.
  • Must have at least 3 lowercase letters.
  • Must have at least 3 uppercase letters. 
  • New password may not have been used previously.
  • Cannot be one of the last 12 passwords used.

Due to an issue with Noridian’s document repository storage, Noridian has updated the results for Appeals Status and Prior Authorization Status to show results going forward from January 1, 2022 to display. Any results prior to that date will be unavailable. Noridian is continuing to work on the archive storage issue internally and with our outside vendors. For any inquiries that you may need assistance on, please contact the Provider Contact Center if needed.

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) now allows Part A and B users to upload EDI compatible claim files to EDI Support Services for processing. This is available under the Claim Status function on the Batch Claims Submit tab. The EDI generated reports will also be viewable in NMP once the file has been processed. ... Read More

The Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) has added a new feature for users to verify if a provider is enrolled in a demonstration program using the ACO Lookup inquiry. Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) are one of the many innovation models created by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Participation in these programs is voluntary and allows providers and patients to work together to deliver faster and more efficient healthcare treatment and reimbursement. Beginning March 20, 2023, for claims with a date of service on or after April 6, 2023, on a voluntary basis, a request can be made to have eligible Power Mobility Device (PMD) accessories reviewed with a Prior Authorization (PA) for a PMD base.
