This tool provides suppliers the information needed to verify if a beneficiary’s permanent address is in a competitive bid area. The 2021 Competitive Bid items are the orthotic off-the-shelf (OTS) back brace and OTS knee brace product categories. Once a supplier verifies the beneficiary’s eligibility, showing the permanent residence, which is the address on file with the Social Security Administration (SSA), the Competitive Bid Zip Code Lookup Tool can be used to verify if beneficiary resides in a competitive bid area.
